Over the last four years I have developed a breathing program called The Art and Science of Full Body Breathing. The processes I teach have brought me from a place of depression, severe body aches and lethargy, to a place of joy with more vital physical and mental health. These processes can and have done the same for many others. For examples please take moment to veiw testimonials.
Since the early ‘70s my life has been a study of holistic living. I did graduate work in metaphysics at Emerson College in Sussex, England and later received a Waldorf Teaching Degree from the Rudolph Steiner College in Sacramento, Ca. I began my ten year career as a Waldorf Teacher in Hawaii, and taught elementary school and E.S.L. for 20 years in the U.S., Vancouver and the Caribbean.
For 30 years I raised four beautiful children who have become successful adults. Doing that primarily on my own required a consistent application of all the holistic principles I ever learned, plus a great deal of trust.
In the mid ’90s I rediscovered yoga which led me to my mentor Pat Bruno, the founder and director of Pathways Yoga Systems Ltd. .Through her knowledgeable guidance I became a Pathways Yoga Teacher with a specialty in breathing. This work led to my passion for sharing the benefits of conscious breathing.
For over two years I taught at Women in Transition Pre-Release and Minimum Security Correctional Facility in Salisbury, Mass. I worked with women from all kinds of backgrounds, with many challenges such as substance abuse, ADHD, and the varied problems associated with physical and emotional abuse. Using gentle yoga and conscious breathing helped many of the women come to a place of higher consciousness, even discovering peace within themselves.
During the last three years I have taught workshops in different areas of the country to yoga teachers, professional healers and lay people; a breathing class for the theatre department at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington; a breathing workshop at the Michael Chekov Acting Studio in NYC; and individuals with specific breathing difficulties such as asthma and sleep apnea, or those who used breathing to release emotional trauma. Now I live and work in Asheville, N.C.
I am awed, amazed and humbled by the power of conscious breathing and my ability to share that power. Breath is my passion, my healing, and my gift. I look forward to sharing it with you.
